The Ascent through Vidigal

Reach the Two Brothers Hill trailhead by navigating the steep, pacified Vidigal favela.

Before you hike the mountain, you must travel to the top of the Vidigal favela. Most hikers take a mototaxi or van from the base rather than walking up the steep streets.

This journey serves as a cultural preamble to your hike. It saves you 45 to 60 minutes of tough walking on paved roads before the actual dirt trail begins.
